SharePoint CU names new board member

press release: SharePoint Credit Union 05/20/2014 – HOPKINS, Minn. – SharePoint Credit Union has named Nicholas Nelson to its Board of Directors.  Nelson has been a member of SharePoint since 2001; serving as a Member of the Advisory Counsel to the Board in 2012 and as an Associate Director in 2013, prior to joining the Board of Directors in 2014. Nelson is a regulatory attorney, bringing expertise in the areas of compliance and risk management.

Nelson’s regulatory expertise has advanced his career, successfully representing large industrial clients before state and federal agencies to obtain environmental permits and helping them comply with regulatory requirements. He earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Notre Dame and received his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law. Nelson gives back to the community; volunteering as a coach for kid’s sports, leading and coordinating a Cub Scout den, and other community involvement.
